How we restored the finca
Three years, one architect, forty tonnes of lime and a wall we decided to leave exactly as it was.

When we bought the house in 2016 the roof of the main building had fallen in and a fig tree was growing out of the kitchen. We kept the fig tree.
The rule from the start was to add nothing the house did not already have. Lime plaster instead of paint, local marès stone for the new walls, oak from the north of Spain for the floors and shutters.
The stables
The Garden Rooms are the old stables. The vaults are original; we cleaned them, opened the doors to the garden and put a bathroom where the hay was kept.
The water
Menorca has no rivers. The cistern under the courtyard is from 1784 and still collects every drop of rain from the roofs. It waters the garden and fills the pool.
