The calas we go to on our day off

Everyone asks about Macarella. It is beautiful, and by eleven in July it is also full. These are the coves we actually go to, and when.

Cala en Turqueta before nine. Park at the top and walk the twelve minutes down. The water is glass at that hour.

Son Saura at lunchtime, because it is wide enough that nobody is close. Take the left beach.

Cala Pilar late in the day. It is on the north coast, the walk is thirty minutes and the sand is red. Nobody bothers.

Getting there

All six are on the Camí de Cavalls. Borrow the bikes, take the map from reception and ask us about the wind before you go north.
